Redis Day London 2019

Redis Day is a free, full-day, single-track, conference about anything and everything Redis. Its main purpose is to provide a stage for Redis developers to share experiences and innovations with the local Redis community

What You’ll Learn
Redis Day London is an event you can’t afford to miss!

  • New Redis features – see how Redis streams and Redis modules are being used in development and production
  • New ways to use Redis – Streams for Microservices, Stateful data for Serverless apps, Operators for Kubernetes
  • Best practices – learn tips and tricks from your fellow Redis users
  • The future of Redis – hear what’s coming in the next big release of Redis

Who Should Attend?
Redis users will learn about new and innovative ways to use Redis. This event is for: developers, engineers, architects, programmers, business professionals and more. Don’t miss out! Connect with, and learn from Redis creator Salvatore Sanfilippo and the other Redis contributors that helped build the fastest and most popular database on the planet.

Training Day - Monday, November 11

9:30am-11:00pm

Redis 101 / Getting Started with Redis
From zero to Redis hero. In this session, we will start from scratch and show you how to get started using Redis in your application, from requirements to connect to Redis through to a few basic operations. This session is designed for people who have never touched Redis before but want to get up to speed quickly.

9:30am-11:00am

Redis Streaming Architectures
In this use-case focused session we will go over how Redis Streams can fit into many architectures. We will give an overview of how the commands work and how they differ from other Redis and non-Redis technologies. We’ll focus on the use of these commands so you’ll leave with an understanding of not just what the commands do, but also how to use them.

11:10am-12:40pm

Redis Data Modeling & Patterns
Redis provides fundamental data structures but linking these structures to how your actual application stores data can be challenging. In this session, we will go over the multiple techniques and patterns to model data using module and built-in Redis data types. We will cover how data structures can be used directly and composed to model more complex data.

1:40pm-3:10pm

Redis Clustering
So, you’ve outgrown a single instance of Redis because of too much data or high throughput needs. In this session, you will learn about options for clustering and how they affect your application. We will go over smart clients, keyspace sharding and performance differences between all the possible topologies.

TBD

3:20pm-4:05pm

Probabilistic Data Structures
Bloom Filters, HyperLogLog and more. Learn how to leverage probabilistic (p11c) data structures for both business needs and analytics. In this session, you will see how p11c data structures can be used as an advanced caching mechanism, and how their combined use can help you keep track of inventory, customers and more — all with a very low memory footprint.

4:15pm-5:00pm

RedisTimeSeries
Time series data is seemingly simple – only a time index and a numeric value. In this session, we will introduce the properties of time series data and map time series data to real-world problems. In addition we will show how to use the RedisTimeSeries module commands and how it integrates with other tools.

4:15pm-5:00pm

RediSearch
RediSearch is a powerful, instant full-text search engine. The session will cover the full life-cycle of search: how to effectively get your data into RediSearch, the mechanics of indexing as well as how to perform both simple and advanced queries.
